The Challenge
Satellite is an early-stage startup on a mission to help people share what matters most to those who matter to them. The product is a social storytelling tool wherein friends join groups and submit stories recapping their week. The stories are compiled into a weekly newsletter and conveniently delivered to their inboxes.
I was brought on board to develop a content strategy for the blog and write weekly posts. The business goals were to develop brand awareness and increase beta sign-ups.
Process
Defined the blog’s purpose:
Educate our target audience on what Satellite is and how it will benefit their lives
Give them ways to invest more in their relationships because Satellite’s mission is to help people deepen connections
Inspire them to tell their story since Satellite is a storytelling tool
Encourage them to reexamine their social media habits because Satellite is a healthier way to stay in touch
Collaborated with a small team to define the brand identity and brand voice for the organization
Conducted keyword research and met with the leadership team to define a measurement plan to track key metrics
Brainstormed content ideas, scheduled out a content calendar, and started writing taking into account the needs and interests of the target audience
